Dr. Joseph’s love of Psychiatry began during her early teen years while spending time with family in Jupiter, FL and working with her (now retired) Geriatric Psychiatrist Aunt at her Private Practice in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Recognizing Dr. Joseph’s passion, her Aunt influenced her to follow her heart, which ultimately lead her to the present and the founding of Inlet Psychiatry. Her passion for Psychiatry was further kindled by her experiences at North Shore LIJ Hillside Hospital during Medical School.
At Stony Brook University Medical Center in NY, Dr. Joseph completed her four year post-doctoral Psychiatry training and followed a year long intensive Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry. As a Fellow, Dr. Joseph was given the opportunity to focus on Neurological disorders, in particular Parkinson’s Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and Frontotemporal Dementia.
Post-training she joined Northwell Health at South Oaks Hospital, in Amityville, NY, as a staff Psychiatrist. Soon after joining, she was appointed as the Chief of the Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Service. During this time her responsibilities included teaching medical students, managing a dedicated unit for Seniors with mood disorders as well as those with neuropsychiatric complications. Additional responsibilities included consultative services at Assisted Livings and Skilled Nursing Facilities throughout Long Island, NY. Upon relocation to Jupiter, FL she continued her work with HCA JFK North and later as the Medical Director for a well-known Addiction Treatment Facilities in the area. Dr. Joseph started Inlet Psychiatry in 2019 to allow her to care for patients and families in an intimate outpatient setting without compromise.
