About the Event
Christina manages the business operations donor services at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She will speak about Parkinson’s disease and healthy brain aging and explain the benefits of brain donation.
About Christina Romani Piersol, Manager, Business Operations and Donor Services
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Mrs. Piersol began her career at The University of Miami Tissue Bank in 2002. For 13 years, her job responsibilities varied from recovery technician, Certified Tissue Bank Specialist, Central Service Technician, Inventory and Distribution Supervisor, Quality Assurance technician. She participated in several FDA audits and was a key person in facilitating the move from the medical campus facility to the newly built, state-of-the-art facility down the street.
In 2015, Christina transferred to The University of Miami Brain Endowment Bank. She continues her work with donor families, participants, and establishing partnerships with other tissue banks and whole-body donation organizations.
Christina has been at the University of Miami for 21 years and has earned her degree in Psychology and Funeral Services which helps her in helping families during a difficult time. Her hobbies include reading, running, and fostering dogs. She is married with four children. She resides in Coral Springs, FL.
