Animation - The category of animation includes all work that is animated, but is in no way interactive. This means that the animation must not have any features that allow the viewer to control it. Types of animation include classical, digital, 2-Dimensional, and 3-Dimensional.

Audio - Submissions into the Audio category include original music, soundscapes, and vocal works.

Desktop Publishing - Desktop Publishing (DTP) includes all work that is intended for print. These submissions typically include both images and text. Design issues will have an emphasis on page, image, and type layout. Submissions in this category can include posters, pamphlets, magazines, books, etc.

Fusion - The important element of the Fusion category is that it recognizes the collaborative nature of work in the new media industry. New media projects often require the diverse skills of a group of people. Celebrating the fusing of these diverse skills in a well-managed project is the heart of this category.

Illustration - Illustration submissions are digital drawings created for the purpose of illustrating an issue, idea, concept, etc. Text is not required here.

Image Manipulation - Image Manipulation includes images and/or photographs that have been SIGNIFICANTLY altered or distort with filters and/or other manipulation tools. Examples of submissions would be collages or images that use multiple files. Simple tweaking of levels, focus, and/or tint is not permitted and should be sent into the Photography category.

Interactive Media - The Interactive Media category includes work that is intended for the Web. Submissions typically will include web sites, web games, and interactive web art.

Photography - Photography includes images that have NOT been significantly altered or distort with filters and/or other manipulation tools. Simple tweaking of levels, focus, and/or tint is permitted.

Video - Submissions into the Video category include original narrative, documentary, experimental, music? videos. This category is, by far, the most popular of the bunch.
